TRUTH IS IN YOUR SPIRIT
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:13).
With so much deceitful information going around in the world today, some people have become confused, not knowing what to believe. But that’s not you! Yes, some people are always in conflict with the truth, but you’re different. You were chosen to know and believe the truth. The Bible says wisdom is known and justified of her children (Luke 7:35), and wisdom is truth.
Even though you may hear religious messages and different things about God, one thing is certain: When God’s true Word gets to you, it’ll come with a conviction of truth! Our theme verse says God chose “...you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.” Salvation could only work for you through two factors: The Holy Spirit sanctifying you, and you believing the truth.
So, the Holy Spirit sets you apart to believe the truth, because it takes the grace of God to know and believe the truth. So, you never have to worry about how to distinguish between truth and falsehood.
Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). God’s truth always blesses, uplifts, strengthens and protects. Truth fills you with love and makes you walk and talk like Christ. It doesn’t bring confusion, and it carries no hate, bitterness or fear with it. As you give yourself to the study of the Word, you’ll be able to judge everything with the truth of God’s Word at all times, because truth is in your spirit.
CONFESSION: The Holy Spirit has set me apart to know and believe the truth, because I’ve been chosen to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Satan has nothing in me! I declare that the hearts of men are open to truth, the truth of God’s Word, to receive it and to live by it, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
